Local Dentist Receives High Honor from American College of Prosthodontists

Dr. Keith Phillips was recently honored with the 2021 Private Practice Prosthodontist Award for Region 5 from the American College of Prosthodontics (ACP). This lifetime achievement is given to prosthodontists in private practice who have made outstanding contributions to the specialty of prosthodontics.

Phillips is one of the few Board Certified Prosthodontists in Washington, achieved through completion of dental school plus at least three additional years of advanced training in a prosthodontic graduate program and successful completion of a rigorous four-part exam. He is passionate about what he does to help improve the overall health and quality of life for his patients.

“One of the first things you notice when you meet someone is their smile,” he noted. “In addition to basic needs like being able to chew comfortably, your smile can impact your confidence. By restoring that smile, we restore social interactions and the ability to have fun again in life.”

Phillips is deeply honored to receive this award. He loves caring for his patients and can’t imagine doing anything else.

“I’m humbled to be recognized by my peers,” he said. “I love going to work each day and can’t imagine doing anything else. I get to combine art and science in a tangible way that improves people’s lives.  My patients mean everything to me; getting to know them and helping them achieve their goals is very rewarding. “

In addition to maintaining a private practice in Tacoma, Phillips serves as an affiliate associate professor at the University of Washington, University of Pennsylvania and University of Southern California.
