Do you know how many homeless youth live in Tacoma-Pierce County? Pierce County Community Connections estimates that 3,000 youth are homeless or at risk of being homeless. 1,000 of these youth are under 18 years old. So, who are our homeless youth? What are their resources? What is the city and county doing to help them? And, what can YOU do to help?

4th Annual Summit on Youth Homelessness and Poverty Immersion Workshop
When: Saturday, November 4, 2017
Where: Tacoma Community College, Opgaard Student Center Building 11
Panel Discussion on Youth Homelessness from 9:00 – 10:30 am:
Moderated by Paige Hansen of NPR affiliate station KNKX, a panel of expert guest speakers will be discussing current issues surrounding homeless youth, the resources that are available as well as the homeless youth shelter in Tacoma.
Poverty Immersion Workshop from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
Martha Aitken, Senior Associate of WSU’s Metropolitan Center for Applied Research and Extension, will lead participants through a unique, interactive experiential training to simulate the stressors faced by individuals and families in times of need. Food and beverage will be provided!
