As part of the City of Tacoma’s anniversary plans, Tacoma South Sound Sports is hosting a celebration parade featuring all human-powered water craft that will span the length of the Thea Foss Waterway.Starting at Waterway Park (Berg Scaffolding site) on the south end of the waterway, the parade will end at the Maritime Fest location at Thea’s Park / Seaport Museum. After the parade, stroll around the Festival enjoying delicious foods, vendors, activities and more. The cost to attend the Festival is FREE!

Who can join in? Any and all paddle or rowing craft. Canoes, kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, outrigger canoes, dragon boats, rowing shells, rafts and more. If it’s human powered and it floats, bring it! Don’t own a water craft but still want to participate? No worries!! There will be plenty of opportunities to rent watercraft on-site the day of the event.

We’d love to see 400 paddle enthusiasts on the Foss that day! So tell your family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers to come out and celebrate Clean Water!
