SUMMARY:Paddle and Row Parade
DESCRIPTION:Ten years ago\, the City of Tacoma completed a historically sig
 nificant cleanup effort on the Thea Foss Waterway. Today\, the Foss is bus
 tling with new residential housing\, businesses and opportunities to enga
 ge the water like never before in Tacoma’s history.\nAs part of the City
  of Tacoma’s anniversary plans\, Tacoma South Sound Sports is hosting a 
 celebration parade featuring all human-powered water craft that will span 
 the length of the Thea Foss Waterway.Starting at Waterway Park (Berg Scaff
 olding site) on the south end of the waterway\, the parade will end at the
  Maritime Fest location at Thea’s Park / Seaport Museum. After the parad
 e\, stroll around the Festival enjoying delicious foods\, vendors\, activi
 ties and more. The cost to attend the Festival is FREE!\n\nWho can join in
 ? Any and all paddle or rowing craft. Canoes\, kayaks\, stand-up paddle bo
 ards\, outrigger canoes\, dragon boats\, rowing shells\, rafts and more. I
 f it’s human powered and it floats\, bring it! Don’t own a water craft
  but still want to participate? No worries!! There will be plenty of oppor
 tunities to rent watercraft on-site the day of the event.\n\nWe’d love t
 o see 400 paddle enthusiasts on the Foss that day! So tell your family\, f
 riends\, neighbors\, and co-workers to come out and celebrate Clean Water!
