Explore downtown Tacoma by following clues, answering trivia, and completing challenges on the Walk Tacoma Scavenger Hunt on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016!
Participants may begin the scavenger hunt between 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. at Tollefson Plaza at S 17th & Pacific Ave. They will use public transportation, their feet, or a bike to get to destinations scattered across downtown Tacoma before meeting back at the plaza at 6:45 p.m., where there will be food trucks and prizes. Prizes will be awarded to participants reaching certain point levels. The highest scoring individual and team will each win a grand prize.
Participants may complete the hunt as individuals or in teams. Many of the destinations on the hunt have been featured during the 2016 Walk Tacoma series or in the Walk Tacoma Downtown Walking Maps (available at the event). Participants will be asked to take a photo at many of the locations, so a digital camera or camera phone is required.
For this event, participants will receive a transit stamp on their Downtown On the Go punch card as part of our earn a t-shirt program – this a great chance to get a new mode! For exclusive sneak peeks at some of the clues, follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
The Scavenger Hunt, sponsored by Pierce Transit and Tacoma Pierce County Health Department, is free and there is no need to pre-register. All ages are welcome.
