This is an opportunity to learn about the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Tacoma. Tacoma is the birth place of Relay For Life; the signature fundraising activity of the American Cancer Society. In 1985 one man, Dr. Gordy Klatt, walked for 24 hours to and raised $27,000 for the local American Cancer Society Chapter and to bring awareness to the journey of cancer patients. The next year he recruited friends and they took turns / shifts walking and/or running for the 24 hours to support the American Cancer Society. Now, Relay For Life has spread to more than 4000 U.S. communities and 20 countries world wide.
Come to learn how you can make a difference in the fight against cancer by participating in the Tacoma Relay For Life.
