The Ensemble is thrilled to be joined by early instrumental ensemble Musica Maestrale and Tacoma’s early vocal consort Canonici as we recreate the musical portions of a 17th-century Venetian vespers service. Polychoral works, solos and duets by Monteverdi, Grandi, Cozzolani, Cavalli and Bassano will intermingle with Gregorian chant antiphons as the 13 singers and instrumentalists of these three groups perform masterworks from the Golden Age of Venice.
