Park(ing) Day is an international event in which artists, citizens, and businesses will temporarily transform a metered parking spot into temporary public spaces. Park(ing) Day’s mission is to call attention to the need for more urban open space, generate discussion and debate around how public space is utilized, and to improve the quality of urban habitat.

Join us for Parking Day 2016 on Friday, September 16

On Friday, Sept. 16, 2016, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Downtown On the Go will bring this international event to downtown Tacoma.  Local businesses, organizations, and residents will showcase their creativity by transforming over 30 park(ing) spaces into interactive parks.  Visit the parks at your lunch break and stop by one of the event food trucks located on Pacific Ave. between S. 11th & S. 12 St.

Tour many of the parks throughout downtown by participating in an organized walk or stop by any of the parks to pickup a Park(ing) Day passport and map of the spaces.  By visiting five or more parks and turning in the completed passport, visitors will be entered into a drawing for downtown gift certificates and prize baskets.

Thank you BLRB Architects for your sponsorship of Park(ing) Day!
